I can't believe its been a year! Today we celebrated our one year anniversary with Jesse and Levi living with us. We had a really fun day, the boys had their haircut, we went sledding and when Kurt came home from work, we all went out to dinner at an Ethiopian restaurant. The twins were so excited to have injera! It was great to just have a fun family day and to end it with something that reminds the boys of Ethiopia. Its funny to watch them eat Ethiopian food because they still eat it exactly the same way as they did when they lived at the Layla House. The smells must bring back those memories i guess!
Well, I must say this year has gone by really quick. It doesn't seem like its been a year since we stepped foot off the plane with the boys. Jesse and Levi were not too happy to walk out into the freezing cold weather that day. The looks on their faces was priceless! Since then, it seems as if the boys have really adjusted well. There have been plenty of highs and lows for all of us, but we know with Jesus and lots of love, they will continue to do well. I am so thankful for the support of our family, church family, and friends. They have been there for us through the good and the bad and its nice to know our boys are so loved by everyone! Evan, Caleb and Shana have adjusted well too, they really love their new brothers and it is so nice to see how close they are now. Thank you Lord for the gift of children, they really are such a blessing!
Sing to God, sing in praise of his name,
extol him who rides on the clouds;
rejoice before him—his name is the LORD.
A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows,
is God in his holy dwelling.
God sets the lonely in families
-Psalm 68: 4-6
